A HPLC method was established for the determination of dutasteride residues on the manufacturing equipment surface.The equipment surface was wiped with cotton buds to prepare the sample solutionsDutasteride was separated and determined using the mobile phase consisting of acetonitrile and water (75: 25) at a flow rate of 1.0 mL·min-1 on a Phenomenex C18 (250 mm×4.6 mm, 5 μm) column.The detection wavelength was 240 nm.The calibration curve was linear (r=1.0000) within the range of 4.03-80.51 μg·ml-1 for dutasteride, the detection limit was 5.6 ng (S/N=3), and the recovery was 98.5%.The method is simple, selective and accurate, and suitable for the control of dutasteride residues on manufacturing equipment surface.
