To establish an HPLC method for the determination of glycyrrhizic acid in Liuwei Clove Capsule.The samples were separated by C18 column (250 mm × 6 mm, 5 μm) with the mobile phase of 0.05 mol/L potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution-acetonitrile (69:31), the flow rate of 1.0 mL/min and the temperature of 20°.The detection wavelength was at 252 nm.Glycyrrhizic acid showed the good linear relationship within the range of 0.9818-5.8908 μg (r = 0.9997), and the average recovery rate was 98.47% with RSD = 1.44% (n = 6).HPLC is simple, sensitive and reliable.It can be used for the quality control of Liuwei Clove Capsule.
