/ Not yet recruitingN/AIIT Comparison of Endodontic Flare up in Single Visit Root Canal Treatment Versus Multiple Visit Root Canal Treatment in Patients Visiting Scd, Swat.
This randomized controlled trial aims to compare the incidence of endodontic flare-ups in patients undergoing single-visit versus multiple-visit root canal treatment (RCT) at Saidu College of Dentistry, Swat. The study will recruit 344 patients aged above 10 and below 60 years, with permanent first molars indicated for RCT and meeting specific clinical and radiographic criteria. Participants will be randomly allocated into two groups: one receiving single-visit RCT and the other receiving multiple-visit RCT. Pain and flare-up incidence will be evaluated using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and swelling grading criteria at 6, 24, and 48 hours post-treatment. The primary outcome is the frequency of endodontic flare-ups requiring additional intervention. The study also examines the role of occlusal reduction in managing postoperative discomfort. Data will be analyzed using SPSS v23 with chi-square and Fisher's exact tests to compare outcomes. The findings aim to inform evidence-based protocols for endodontic treatment in the local population.
/ Not yet recruitingN/AIIT Comparison of Mean Pain Score Using LASER Therapy and Desensitizing Agents in Patients With Dentinal Hypersensitivity: A Randomized Controlled Trial
This study evaluates the effectiveness of laser therapy versus desensitizing agents in reducing pain among participants with dentinal hypersensitivity conducted in Saidu College of Dentistry. Pain will be measured at baseline, immediately post-treatment, one week, and three months using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS)
The Role of Melatonin as an Adjuvant Therapy in Childhood Pneumonia
The goal of this study is to compare the mean length of hospital stay between children with pneumonia receiving melatonin as an adjuvant therapy and those receiving standard of care alone.
The hypothesis is that combining oral melatonin with standard treatment can reduce the length of hospital stay as compared to standard of care alone.
The control group will receive standard treatment (antibiotic) while the intervention group will receive standard treatment plus melatonin for 14 days.

Urinoma (collection of urine) formation secondary to extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) is one of the rare complications encountered postprocedure and co-existence of urinoma with steinstrasse is a rare and challenging scenario to manage in the setting of obstructive uropathy. ESWL is known for being noninvasive for breaking kidney and ureteric stones. Urinoma is a collection of urine outside the collecting system in the retroperitoneum or perirenal space. Early detection and management are necessary to prevent complications related to urinoma and steinstrasse. This case report is about a patient who developed urinoma and steinstrasse in the setting of obstructive uropathy after sessions of ESWL on the right side and was managed with a nephrostomy tube and trans-ureteral lithotripsy on the right side and percutaneous nephrolithotomy on the left side after 1 month.

Managing a challenging case of bilaterally fractured DJ stents following extracorporeal shock waves lithotripsy for chronic encrustations: A case report
Article

Double-j stents are commonly used in many urological procedures to facilitate the drainage of renal systems postoperatively. Their usage has revolutionized the world of urological interventions but if left forgotten present serious complications. We report a case of an old man who was diagnosed with bilaterally fragmented DJ stents in situ in our urology department following his sessions of extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy for chronic encrustations. These stents were placed after complete breakdown of bilateral ureteral stones through ureterorenoscopy and laser lithotripsy.
