The synthesis technol. of main intermediate of elbanizine, 4-chloro-2,6-dimethyl-3-nitro pyridine was described. Dehydroacetic acid was used as original material, which was prepared through hydrolysis, ammonia solution, nitration, chlorination to synthesize the target compound, 4-chloro-2,6-dimethyl-3-nitro pyridine. The synthesis technol. has advantages such as mild conditions, simple operation, lower requirements for production equipment and higher total yield. The total yield of the four synthesis steps is 22.3%. The chem. structure is identified by 1H NMR, mass spectrometry and elemental anal.
