This paper introduced the application research of waterborne two component (2K) polyurethane coatings based on hydroxyl acrylic dispersion. Firstly, hydroxyl acrylic dispersion was synthesized as film forming material, supplemented with appropriate pigments, fillers and additives, and combined with appropriate poly-isocyanate curing agent to prepare waterborne 2K polyurethane coating. Furthermore, existing difficult problems in 2K polyurethane coatings were deeply studied, such as the influence of temperature on the pot life, the influence of nNCO/nOH on the performance, bubble free film thickness (BFFT), and the compatibility with different poly-isocyanate. The results show that this prepared hydroxyl acrylic dispersion can provide excellent appearance and gloss, excellent BFFT performance, long pot life and excellent poly-isocyanate compatibility and low VOC emission, and has large potential application market and broad application prospects.
