The aim is to establish a HPLC method for the content determination of baicalin in guilin watermelon frost capsules. The anal. was carried out on Phenomenex luna C18 column (250 mm*4.6 mm, 5μm). The mobile phase was methanol-water-phosphoric acid (50:50:0.2) with the flowrate of 1.0 mL/min. The detection wavelength was at 280 nm and column temperature was at 40°C. There was a good linear relationship between the concentration of baicalin in the range of 0.2104∼5.2600μg and their peak areas (r=0.9999). The recovery was 100.61% (RSD=1.18%). The method was simple, fast and accurate, which could be applied for the quality control of guilin watermelon frost capsules.
