/ Not yet recruitingN/AIIT Efficacy of Oral Amoxicillin in Comparison to Intravenous Ceftriaxone in Treatment of Uncomplicated Community Acquired Pneumonia (Cap) Among Children of Age 2-5 Years of Age
The efficacy of oral amoxicillin is considered equal to that of ceftriaxone in community-acquired pneumonia among children. Also, there are some factors that contradict the usage of ceftriaxone, like antibiotic resistance, adverse reactions, drug cost, and the and the chances of IV trauma and infection, which is a major problem in developing countries. Therefore, this study was planned to determine the efficacy of oral amoxicillin compared with intravenous (IV) ceftriaxone in the treatment of uncomplicated ceftriaxone in community acquired pneumonia in children less than 5 years of age.
/ Not yet recruitingN/AIIT Comparison of the Role of Losartan Alone vs Hydrochlorothiazide Plus Losartan on Proteinuria in Diabetic Nephropathy Patients
Losartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker, has already been established as a treatment for diabetic nephropathy due to its ability to reduce blood pressure and mitigate the progression of kidney damage. However, the addition of a diuretic like hydrochlorothiazide may offer synergistic benefits in reducing proteinuria by addressing both the underlying renal pathology and potential volume overload in these patients. The current study aims at determining and comparing the role of losartan alone vs hydrochlorothiazide plus losartan in reducing proteinuria in diabetic nephropathy patients.
Efficacy and Safety of Continuous Versus Intermittent Nebulization of Salbutamol in Acute Severe Asthma in Children Under 12 Years of Age
Asthma affects around 260 million people globally, causing around 0.5 million deaths annually. Pediatric asthma remains a major global public health challenge, significantly affecting the quality of life for many children. Therefore, this study was planned to compare the effects of continuous versus intermittent nebulization of salbutamol in the treatment of acute severe asthma (ASA) in children visiting the emergency department of a tertiary childcare hospital in South Punjab, Pakistan.
