The objective of this study is to establish the method for determining the content of glycyrrhizic acid in Gankang Granules by HPLC. The one point external standard method was used with Diamonsil ODS C18 column (250 mm × 4.6 mm, 5 μm), methanol-0.2 mol/L ammonium acetate-glacial acetic acid (67:33:1) as the mobile phase, and the detection wavelength was 250 nm and the flow rate was 1.0 mL/min. The calibration curve was linear at the range of 0.5102-4.0820 μg for the glycyrrhizic acid and the linear equation was Y = 6422.014X -412.836, r = 0.9996 (n = 5). The average recovery rate was 99.29% and RSD was 1.22% (n = 6). This method is simple and accurate with good specificity and reproducibility, which can be used for the scientific quant. anal. of glycyrrhizic acid in Gankang Granules.
