WILMINGTON, Del.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Synnovation Therapeutics, a precision medicine company developing small molecule therapies optimized to achieve best-in-class pharmacology against highly validated disease targets, today announced that the first patient has been dosed in a Phase I trial evaluating SNV1521 in patients with solid tumors. SNV1521 is a potentially best-in-class, potent, highly selective and CNS penetrant PARP1 inhibitor PARP1 inhibitor. The Phase I trial, which is being led by Timothy Yap, M.D., Ph.D., professor of Investigational Cancer Therapeutics at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center Cancer Center, is designed to assess proof-of-concept with SNV1521 as an oral monotherapy in a dose escalation and preliminary efficacy expansion study. PARP inhibition is clinically validated for homologous recombination deficiency (HRD, a molecular biomarker) driven cancers; however, the safety pro first generation PARP1 agents limits the potential of the class, particularly in combination with chemotherapy or other novel agents.
