Objective: To establish the HPLC characteristic chromatogram of Eucommiae cortex formula granules. Methods: The HPLC characteristic chromatogram was obtained using a Megress C_(18)( 250 mmx4.6 mm,5 μm) column. The mobile phase consisted of methanol and 0.1% phosphoric acid solution and eluted in a gradient mode at the flow rate of 1.0 mL·min∼(-1). The column temperature and the detection wavelength was set at 30 °C and 227 nm,resp. The structure of the compound presented by the characteristic peaks was identified by the accurate mol. weight and the fragment ions obtained by LC-MS,and also by the comparison with the literature and the reference compounds Results: The standard characteristic chromatogram consisted of 12 characteristic peaks,presenting 12 compounds including 7 lignans,3 iridoids and 2 phenolics. The similarity of 12 batches of samples was between 0.907 and 0.994. Conclusion: The characteristic chromatogram is precision,stable and reliable. Providing information of lignans,iridoids and phenolics compounds,it is useful in the quality control of Eucommiae cortex formula granules.
