B7-DC Xab Plasma Therapy for the Treatment of Metastatic Melanoma. A Feasibility/Pilot Study

RATIONALE: Monoclonal antibodies can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them.
PURPOSE: This clinical trial is studying the side effects and best dose of a monoclonal antibody in treating patients with stage IV melanoma.

Retraction: B7-DC/PD-L2 Cross-Linking Induces NF-κB-Dependent Protection of Dendritic Cells from Cell Death

A member of the B7-DC XAb investigative team, Dr. Suresh Radhakrishnan, who was involved in or had access to all of the work on this subject, was found, in a formal investigation, to have engaged in scientific misconduct in unpublished experiments involving the B7-DC XAb reagent.This finding of misconduct and our inability to reproduce key findings using blinded protocols has undermined our confidence in our published reports.Therefore, this article needs to be retracted.
